The takedown hole in the guide rod allows for easy disassembly/reassembly.
The head of the guide rod has smooth beveled edges to make for a seamless look.
All kits are drop-in.
This guide rod kit is made for the Rock Island Compact. You will need to fit the lugs on the top of the plug (shown in alternate image).
This kit does not work in a Metro Arms Compact.
This kit uses a 1/4″ diameter guide rod, flat wire spring, and fully machined reverse plug. The spring that comes packaged with the kit is a 22lb, which works perfect for .45 ACP.
